About Us Under our "scheme" we have "nine competent trustees". Five of these are nominated, each for a four-year term (two by Richmond-upon-Thames Council, two by the Churches Together in Barnes and one by Richmond Council for Voluntary Service) and the other four are co-opted, each for a five-year period, from among local residents. Trustees can be appointed for a second term but it is accepted practice that they do not accept a third term. Trustees meet every alternate month to consider grant applications and the governance of Walsingham Lodge. Before each meeting, the Clerk, where appropriate, will contact the Applicant Organisation (or the Referral Authority in the case of Individuals) to discuss the nature of the application. A full assessment of each application will then be circulated to Trustees for consideration in advance of their Meeting. The quorum for meetings is four and sub-committees are set up when necessary. The day to day management of Walsingham Lodge is undertaken by an external agent, Rosemary Simmons Memorial Housing Association Ltd, experts in their field. The Barnes Workhouse Fund encourages those who have enjoyed living in Barnes and who would like to support the Fund’s work in the future to consider the Fund when writing their Will. Legacies are applied to the Charity’s permanent endowment so that the income will be available to benefit many future generations. The Fund's Trustees
